Engineers

Dave Kutch

"Great sounding records by great artists in a very sexy, elegant & productive environment, accompanied by the level of service found at a five star hotel."

That was my mantra when I built The Mastering Palace, & it continues to be the entire facility's mantra as we evolve & adapt to our clients' ever changing needs.

Tatsuya Sato

"Tats", a Tokyo native, started his career as a recording/mixing engineer, eventually working on classics like Michael Jackson's "Invincible" & Lauren Hill's "The Miseducation of Lauren Hill". Prior to his transition into mastering, Tats received a Grammy nomination for Album of The Year for his engineering work on Kanye West's "The College Dropout".

Now exclusively mastering, he's added another Grammy nomination with Aleks Syntek's 2014 "Syntek".

Sarah Register

Mastering in NYC for over 15 years, Sarah's been a go-to for both icons & upcoming new artists, & is avidly interested in the creative possibilities of mastering. Simultaneously she brings her instinctual empathy plus experience as a musician toward satisfying the needs of all her projects.

Recent releases include Protomartyr, Lower Dens, Say Hi and Chastity Belt, and Grammy nominated albums worked on include Lee 'Scratch' Perry & The Shins. Full discography available here.

Mark Santangelo

Mark began his mastering career in 2000 at Sony Music Studios, his credits over the years include The Weeknd's "Trilogy", Neon Trees' "Habits", Neil Diamond's "Home Before Dark" & the original soundtrack to Fox's hit TV show "Empire".

Mark's passion for music & undaunted devotion to his clients is reflected in every album he masters. A vinyl aficionado with long term lathe experience, Mark cuts all of TMP's lacquers.

Assistant Engineer
Kevin Peterson

Kevin's a crucial part of TMP as Dave's right hand, as well as being an upcoming mastering engineer. Born on Long Island, Kevin began working in music in 2012 and brings the skills he's learned while assisting notable engineers to his own clients. Kevin is also an accomplished guitarist, composer & producer.

Her experiences managing studios & pro audio establishments are unrivaled, as well as the clients who swear by her. With a background including legends Electric Lady Studios, Rogue Music & Platinum Sound, Kimi now operates as Studio Manager at TMP & is happy to help find the right fit for your upcoming project.

"You request it, she handles it"

Mastered for iTunes

Apple has recently embarked on its Mastered For iTunes initiative, and The Mastering Palace was contacted to join them in their initial stages.

The Mastering Palace can create and send masters that meet Apple's Mastered for iTunes specifications.

Private Mastering

Unlike most mastering studios, The Mastering Palace can come to you. Dave Kutch has mastered both of Alicia Keys' last two albums in her live room at her personal studio.

We have a complete duplicate of Dave's mastering room ready to travel. It can be set up and ready for mastering in three days. Security, comfort, and the ability to make final mastering decisions in your normal listening environment are just a few of the advantages to working like this.

Please contact us to further discuss the benefits and logistics of bringing our studio to you.
